Churros – Market Fresh style

We have travelled to Spain and had their delicious fried churros rolled in sugar.  It is a beautiful food – even better dipped in chocolate. Really, how can you go wrong frying dough and then eating it. Actually you can go wrong – we have a rule in my house that I’m not allowed to fry dough anymore (it can make Moms fat apparently).  However, on a Saturday morning in Guelph, there is nothing better to Thing 2 than the apple churros baked fresh at Market Fresh – Guelph’s downtown grocery store.

La baguette

The baguette is the King of Bread.  We start every Saturday morning with a pilgrimmage to Ouderkirk & Taylor in Guelph. Sellers of fine foods and bakers of great bread in the French Canadian style, they make the best baguette this side of France. The baguette never makes it home without both ends being munched
